Get over yourselves. I always found it ironic how people with low self-esteem can be self involved enough to assume that everything is targeted at them. You do realize that the word "cut" is also used in past tense, correct? It's not just an action implying that it's what someone does, but also explaining that it's something that they may have done as in accidentally. Just because a select few people cut themselves intentionally, is no reason to attack someone who doesn't think that way. The only reason that you think that way is because it's a personal issue that you've admitted to having. The only person being victimized here is the designer who you're inflicting with terrible insults and accusations.

I never at any point interpreted this as being related to self-harm, ...he accidentally cut himself, ..and put a band-aid on his cut, ...I cut myself last night, ..it's funny.

Everyone else can go home, and calm down.

I'm gonna rate this shirt 5/5 only because I'm fucking tired of people making their personal MISinterpretation of simple, harmless things, like a t-shirt, and demonizing them into symbolism hell.

This is a disgusting pretense for the idea of a stupid t-shirt. The crappy image is capitalizing on the pain THOUSANDS suffer through every day with self harm and self-mutilation. Threadless is UNBELIEVABLY irresponsible to have this out in print - furthering the notion that hey if you do cut, you don't REALLY have a problem. That's why so many are afraid of getting help - they encounter shit like this that makes fun of the agony of just not being able to be as adjusted as everyone else. This is disgusting - and survivors like myself and others are going to be sure this shirt is boycotted until self-garners get help, and NOT have their pain seen as a joke. Screw you for letting this get to print, Threadless. Guess all you really care about is that bottom dollar after all.

I don't think this speaks towards self harm at all. That knife appears unable to harm itself simply based on its construction... the blade wouldn't twist in such a way. I read from the design the potential vulnerability of an object/person who seems frightening or dangerous!! BOOM!!! AP English!!!

It obviously wasn't meant to mock people who cut themselves; it's a play on the idea in that a knife is cutting itself.

I doubt the creators meant to do any harm nor mock a serious condition and I think it's a great t-shirt.

I still struggle with self harm. I'm not emo or maladjusted- I'm actually pretty successful. That said, seeing pictures (and hipstertastic models) mocking a condition I have fought long and hard against (and which, ten to one, neither they nor the creator of this design have ever experienced) is still kind of painful. I can't help the way my brain is wired, and I've had to work long and hard to overcome my impulse to take my problems out on myself. Mental illness still has an incredible stigma today, and this kind of crap is incredibly damaging. What's next, Threadless? Are you going to print a shirt mocking, I don't know, multiple sclerosis? Or, ooh, how about we make fun of recovering alcoholics? Honestly, I expected better of you guys.

As someone who struggles with self-harm, I find this extremely offensive. This adds to the ignorance of society and encourages bullying. If you have any decency or brains, you would kindly take this down.
